Health is not just defined by one area. It is mental, physical, and spiritual. On a level of 1-10 I would rate my physical well-being at 5. I do practice excellent eating habits, however I am a gym-avoider! Going to the gym is the most convenient form of cardio exercise that I can perform with my lifestyle, however I very much prefer to ride my bike or do an outdoor activity instead of going indoors. This being said, I have no regular schedule that I abide and hence is my biggest physical downfall. A goal for myself would be to walk/run for thirty minutes each day, this way I can squeeze in some cardio in addition to the yoga I do daily.
My spiritual well being I would rate at a 3. I am a very spiritual person, however I also believe you must be active (just like working out!) to strengthen your spirituality. My core spirituality I very much value, but I need to work on becoming more spiritually active. A goal for myself would be to pray daily. This is simple, embraces by spiritual beliefs, and is the first step into me working on my spiritual well-being.
My psychological well-being I would rate at a 9. There is always room for improvement, but I have a great sense of awareness and intuition that I choose to embrace that pushes my mental capacity every day. In comparison, I mentally work harder to grasp, understand, and enlighten. A goal in this area for me would be to apply my awareness into all aspects of my life. I recently have been trying to buy fair-trade and organic cotton clothing--phew! This is more difficult that I thought, but is a step into making my life more harmonious.
The relaxation exercise was something I enjoyed. I generally don’t participate in guided meditation in the form of imagery, but this activity was a nice experience. I always enjoy taking a minute, stepping back, and focusing on the simpleness of breathing. I did feel relaxed after the exercise, and initially had some trouble clearing my thoughts but the guidance recommendations came easy, and I would say it was a successful technique for myself.
I think you set some great goals for yourself. I have a hard time with the gym routine myself. I would rather do exercises on my own. I think your spiritual goal is excellent-I pray daily and it is truly a blessing to be connected to your higher power. You are lucky to be rated that high for your psychological well-being. I'm working on mine and would hope to be at your level someday. I'm also glad you had a successful experience with the exercise, as I think I need to practice it a few more times.
ReplyDeleteHi, prayer is always a good way to getting better spiritual as one and also reading the bible would be good as well. Many will consider me a gym rat, but I feel as long as you get some form of physical fitness along with a sound diet that you will be fine. You seem to have a good plan of attack and from reading your post you want to do even better.
